Why the Pre-K-3 Early Childhood Certificate
The Pre-K - 3 Early Childhood certificate accommodates working professionals and leads to additional opportunities in schools throughout Tennessee and beyond. Faculty in the Eriksson College of Education are committed to fostering highly qualified professionals who are knowledgeable and skilled in performance-based practices that support reflective, data-informed practitioners.
Current teachers who already have a bachelor’s degree in K-5 elementary education can obtain Pre-K - 3 licensure quickly through Austin Peay State University! This certificate prepares K-5 teachers to pass the Pre-K - 3 Praxis exam, allowing for flexibility and career enhancement opportunities for educators. The four required courses can be completed in the summer in a fully-online format.
This Pre-K – 3 certificate will prepare you to be a successful classroom teacher for young children. All classes are taught by faculty with extensive training in the content and pedagogy of early childhood education. All faculty teaching in the program are experienced classroom teachers with years of valuable practical experience. Austin Peay’s program is accredited and on the cutting-edge of teacher education.
